Secure Cloud and AI in Practice at Breakfast in the Cloud

Cybersecurity of cloud solutions and threat prevention remain very hot topics that strongly resonate. On the occasion of developing our partnership with Amazon Web Services, we took the opportunity to present to a wider audience the possibilities that this partner offers. At the Bratislava headquarters of Asseco CE Cloud, we organized an intimate networking event for selected companies, where we presented current challenges and trends in both the public and private sectors.

Peter Brťka, Director of Security & Architecture at Asseco CE Cloud, focused in his presentation on the ongoing topic of the NIS2 directive and its impact on the participating industry sectors.. He also introduced the strategy of multicloud, business continuity management, and disaster recovery to ensure smooth operation and recovery of infrastructure in case of incidents.

At the event, we welcomed speakers from our partner Amazon Web Services, who brought an inspiring perspective on the use of artificial intelligence in AWS services and the possibilities of easily procuring cloud solutions through the Slovak Government Cloud.

Our guest speaker Jiří Sven Svěrák (Public Sector Lead) from Amazon Web Services, explained to public sector participants how the Government Cloud Catalog works and how cloud services for state organizations can be easily procured. He also introduced an upcoming innovation – the „AWS European Sovereign Cloud“ in Germany, which will bring full data sovereignty within the EU and a high level of security and regulation for the public sector and sensitive industries – available already this year.

Jan Nevědel (IT Architect) from Amazon Web Services introduced participants to the topic of AI as part of Amazon Web Services and guided us through the AI implementation cycle into processes. He also emphasized the importance of properly set foundations for implementing AI: “If your databases are not in order, AI will not work.” Jiří complemented the presentation with real use cases from the financial and transport sectors.

The presented topics sparked interest among the participants, and after the event, they actively returned to them in discussions. For many, these topics were relevant, and they plan to focus on them more closely in the near future.

We thank everyone who attended, participated, and contributed to the lively discussion on the presented topics. We believe you found the topics inspiring. We look forward to further meetings where together we will push the boundaries of innovation and security in the digital world.
